Judgementall Hai Kya: Top 5 Controversies Surrounding The Kangana Ranaut-Rajkummar Rao Starrer
From legal battles to social media wars, film controversies are out in open for the audience unlike before when the spats and fallouts were hot-selling news items only for leading publications. One such film which hogged the limelight for series of controversies is Balaji Motion Pictures’ Judgementall Hai Kya. As the flick is just a couple of hours away from treating the audience, we give you a quick low down of the series of controversies that surrounded the flick.

1. Change of title from ‘Mental Hai Kya' to 'Judgemental Hai Kya'
The unveiling of the film’s title with its first look poster attracted controversy for the makers.  The title was highly condemned by members of Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS), as according to them title Mental Hai Kya portrayed the mentally challenged individuals in a bad light and demeaned them to a certain extent. Thus, the makers chose to opt for a fresh new title Judgementall Hai Kya for its release.

2. Kangana puts audience acceptance above the industry insiders

On being questioned why she is fearlessly exposing her fellow colleagues from the industry, she ended up giving a fierce reply to this as well. According to her she considers her audience way above them, who appreciate her and her work and this empowers her to keep going thus, industry insiders’ opinions or acceptance doesn’t bother her.

She said, “Industry wale gaye tel lene, mujhe jitna logon se pyaar aur acceptance milta hai, it empowers me. Agar log mujhe pyaar naa karein, meri filmo ka naa sarahe. Then probably, I don’t stand anywhere and I am empowered by so many people, who love me, on many levels. Some people who haven’t even seen my film, they love my personality, then there are some fans who love my acting, are not okay with my personality. There are different levels of people appreciating me. I am really humble"

3. Rangoli Chandel’s potshots at Varun Dhawan and Taapsee Pannu for not appreciating Kangana’s work

Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel took a straight dig at Varun Dhawan when he missed out on mentioning Kangana’s name as he appreciated the film’s trailer.  In a reply to Rajkummar’s Tweet, he had tweeted, “What a mast trailer. Amazing lead and supporting cast backed by some great writting.Looks like alot of fun #JudgementallHaiKyaTrailer.”

To which Rangoli replied, “Kangana ka bhi naam likh dete sir!! Wo bhi kisi ko bachi hai usne bhi mehnat ki hai (You should have mentioned Kangana’s name too. She is also somebody’s daughter. She has also worked hard)!!!”

Being lightning fast with his reply Varun wrote, “Loving everyone from satish sir, Hussain, raj and specially Kangana aur lead cast ka wohi matlab tha maam. Best wishes.” Post which Rangoli thanked and everything ended on a pleasant note.

Moving on to the next celebs who was taken a dig at by Rangoli was actress Taapsee Pannu. Taapsee appreciated the trailer with her tweet, “This is so cool!!!! Always had high expectations out of this one n this looks so worth it!"

To which Rangoli replied, “Kuch log Kangana ko copy kar ke he apni dukaan chalate hain, magar pls note, they never acknowledge her not even a mention of her name in praising the trailer, last I heard Taapsee ji said Kangana needs a double filter and Tapsee ji you need to stop being a sasti copy"

4. Major fallout between Kangana and a journalist

During the song launch event, Kangana was irked when a journalist  ( Who had previously asked her about the failure of her last outing Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and also made several memes regarding the same) was about to ask a question and the actress lost her cool and lambasted the journalist for running a smear campaign against her in the media. She said, “You have been writing really nasty things about me. How do you even manage to think so nastily? Is it fair for you to write things like that? You are bashing my film Manikarnika. You are calling me a jingoistic woman who’s making a film on nationalism. Is it my mistake to make a film (on nationalism)?”

This matter blew out of proportion and an entertainment guild was formed that demanded an apology from the actress, which was clearly denied for in a video shared on her sister social media handle.

5. Lastly Taapsee’s reply on Rangoli's Sasti-copy comment and vice-versa

In an exclusive conversation with SpotboyE. Com Taapsee spoke the sasti-copy comment, by saying she feels privileged to be compared to Kangana, who is one of the highest-paid actresses of Bollywood. Thus, she would rather take it as a compliment and said, “If she thinks I am a copy of Kangana in any way, sasta or mehenga, I take it as a compliment because she is a really good actress. Maybe Rangoli said ‘sasta copy’ because according to her, Kangana is the highest-paid actress today, so in that reference, I might be a sasti copy because definitely, I don’t earn as much as she does.”

When Kangana was informed about Taapsee reply, Kangana in an exclusive interview told us, “Well, that is very gracious of her. She is very gracious and in any way, don't we as contemporaries inspire each other? She started in the South just around the same time as I did and she is my contemporary and so many times consciously and subconsciously we inspire each other. I feel whether it is Deepika's infectious fitness routine or Alia's chirpiness or whether it is Katrina's Miss Congeniality personality, it is always what subconsciously we all get from each other and the way Kareena is being so consistent with her work!”
